Here's Portland from nearby Mt. Hood, with the ICE facility where all the protests are taking place approximately circled in red. Not much is happening outside of that area. I went to the Portland IKEA store yesterday and ate some herring and meatballs at their cafeteria, and people seemed fine.
Fascinating post and quint get.
>>215577777Portlandfag here, and nice numbers anon. It's actually pretty nice here if you're not republican. Weed is as cheap as 5 dollars at my regular shop, you can get paid $18 an hour for working at McDonalds, and sure the homeless can be iffy but most of the iffy ones keep to the areas around soup kitchens and government services and the rest tend to be actually surprisingly normal. Only thing that sucks is gas and rent are overpriced to shit because of the tech companies and rent cartels
>>215578147I'm actually from the Corvallis area, and 'Portland' has always been a place we went every few weeks or months for concerts/shopping/etc. The bum situation is unfortunate. But they have never fucked with me for whatever reason. I do carry a pistol and bodycam (to document any use of force for legal purposes), but that's not obvious.
>>215578411I'm actually on the Vantucky side of the river, it sucks but I'm moving out of state for a year in a few days and I hope to return when my lease is up. I seriously wouldn't be too concerned about the homeless though, I worked in a hobomill downtown a lot of them are good folks in rough spots so I am a bit biased. just be smart and if it looks like it tweaks then at least thirty feet.
