What's wrong with hormonated beef? Please explain without just calling me a barbaric sandnigger. You won't be able to absorb any meaningful amount of the hormones anyways through your digestive canal because they're just proteins and lipids that get broken down and absorbed exactly the same as the meat's proteins and fats. Why complain about bovine trenbolone but not about uncastrated bulls' natural testosterone? Does the "all-natural" label make all the difference?
>>
>>215603709
not all of the hormones go away and can get back into your own body. It's one thing for some minor hormones but here they basically have no ceiling and pump the animals with such an ungodly amount if you know how to look you can actually taste the difference some say
>>
>>215602597
Not a big deal. I was a short order cook. You throw the buns down on the range for a bit anyways. Maybe with some butter. That'll disinfect it. Gets the cheese to melt better when you put it all together too.

American Week is easily the most cursed LIDL week, everything is sugar + fat, several frozen stuff you deep fry, more sugar on sugar with syrup, sad microwave burgers, [thing]-burger items, [thing]-pizza items, bubble gums and jellies, [american]-thing goods that are already normally sold everywhere like chicken nuggets but now they are American chicken nuggets and wings.

Simple stuff like frozen chicken, pork and beef based goods come from EU, usually LIDL goods are 50% and over made in Germany, then Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland and France, local LIDL have some decent own country made food stuff with certificates and all, those aren't bad. Even if it's Asian or Greek week it has German made stuff somewhere mixed with actual products from Greece, sometimes UK imports made too. Usually buy certified PDO of GPI stuff to avoid disappointment.
They mix industrial food with actual specialties and off private label goods, US/Canada usually imports peanuts, pistachios, walnuts, maple syrup, whiskey, Brits, Spanish and French mostly cheese, wine and few specialties, Poles often meat and dairy based goods, Greeks cheese and olives, Asians soy sauce, Italians/French/Spanish probably offer the least slop products, Germany abuses its milk and meat industry showering the EU in cheap pork and dairy products. Anyeay every themed week has some utter shit processed foods that can be easily avoided because they have bland taste or terrible texture if you don't opt for the authentic exports.

I am not sure who buys most of this, here they still sell normal looking pizza and local brands and EU PDO/GPI specialties including snacks in the same LIDL, and if they are desperate and want a bigmac then McDonalds is literally 20 meters away from the LIDL in my city and EU McDonalds just like other American owned brands have to follow our food safety regulations anyway.

buy anything frozen here and you subject yourself to illnesses given that there is little to no food regulation here outside of stopping surface level pathogens. when i was going through tough times and bought a bag of tendies or corn dogs, i would get a sore throat feeling after eating the stuff despite cooking it longer than instructed. they put solutions in the frozen meats here. i dont know if thats a thing over there.
i got an aldi in my area and the pricing is unbelievable. that place is a life saver. would be cool to see a LIDL here.
>Picrel: coke flavored yogurt.
when i was a kid, i mixed food out of pure boredom. "coke flavored yogurt" was one such idea. i didn't think europeans would consider it american cuisine but given the other kind of slop they serve here with a straight face, i would not be surprised of it was.

I do not take the opinions of americans on food seriously
>>
>>215608773
I guess so, but at least you can't fuck up peanut butter, potato snacks, brownies, or chicken nuggets, those are the same everywherea and they whiskey is all imported from the US.
Here the US stuff you can mostly find in normal big stores chains are California almonds/pistachios/walnuts and dry plums, liquors, cheddar (I believe it comes from the UK mostly) peanuts, cranberries, tabasco, lobsters and maple syrup. I don't think there is anything else to be seen normally unless you visit niche shops selling quality US made export or specialized shops. Most American recipes can be reproduced with local ingredients.

>>215608919
Here the preservatives are usually various salts or citric acid most of the time, no super scary additives and those usually are removed if proven dangerous to health, sometimes lobbies tend to delay the bans but they do happen eventually.
Only annoying thing is using salts to make the meat appear "freshier" and "pinker", it should be banned for ham and sausages, absolutely serves no purpose and defeats the natural look of the food, cooked ham is grayish naturally and not bright pink, we were domesticated to think the pinker the meat the better.
This is allowed but serves zero real purpose for food quality preservation, normal salt is more than enough.
Some places have market isles without these kind of preservatives.
Any German made beer, including the cheapest discount also doesn't use corn in it because Germany has an own specific regulations for beer brewing so even the cheapest discount beer tends to be decent tasting, LIDL can make the beer even cheaper but then it moves its production to Poland where the law allows corn and other cheaper ingredients.
>>
>>215607789
I believe those "microwaveable" ones are made from pork, not beef
>>
>>215609030
I mean fair enough, but some of the more interesting stuff like BBQ or Tex Mex, nevermind hawaiian or cajun, probably require more niche cooking methods or ingredients (then again they also sell pulled pork in stores here too)
>>
>>215609245
here they don't actually ever disclose what's in preservatives. the way it works is that each preservative is a "patent" with undisclosed ingredients (they say it's a "company secret" to "protect their business"). they say it's salt water but they don't elaborate further because that would be a heckin unwholesome communism.
US would never allow LIDL to sell cheap beer here. the tariffs are insane. beer is one of those markets that theyre trying to protect because anything made in UK/germany/north france would murder beer companies here. 6 pack of paulaner is around the equivalent of 14 euros. thats my favorite brand but i had to move on to corona lights the price is just way too high

If you're not the Jewish schizo (pp): No they're not. Food laws in Islam largely mirror that of the halakhah except that Rock badgers, hares, camels, crustaceans (in all schools other than hanafis, and there prawns and shrimp are still halal) are all halal unlike the halakhah which forbids all of the aforementioned meats (Deut. 14:7). Frogs however are very much haram.
