漢字が大嫌い
漢字が大好き必要が無い漢字でも学ばざるを得ない同じ言葉でも様々な意味合いが表れる、素晴らしいと思わないか?

>>215657606>I think 滅 looks a lot like 減、 but the destroy one is messier.Yeah the mnemonics I use are using water to douse a parade of fire (to destroy it) and using water to douse a parade of mouths (to decrease their numbers, say they're loudmouthed protestors), that way it's easy to tell them apart just by the small square radical in the middle>Fortunately the verbs aren't similar. 滅ぶ・滅びる・減る・減らすTrue though I can see why destroy and decrease would share similarities in their pictograms historically

我本著邪見 為諸梵志師I was once attached to wicked views, acting as teacher for the Brahmins,世尊知我心 拔邪說涅槃But the World-Honored-One knew my mind, plucking out the wickedness and teaching nirvana我悉除邪見 於空法得證I cleared away all these wicked views completely, and in the dharma of emptiness attained enlightenment,爾時心自謂 得至於滅度At that time in my mind saying to myself, that I had achieved the ultimate extinction而今乃自覺 非是實滅度But now I come to realize that this was not the true extinction—若得作佛時 具三十二相At such a time as I should attain Buddhahood, complete with the 32 great marks,天人夜叉眾 龍神等恭敬By assemblies of devas, and men and yaksas, and by nagas all revered,是時乃可謂 永盡滅無餘At this time would I then be able to say that I had forever and totally entered into extinction without remainder
