I was 17 years old when our black American teacher basically called us lazy and stupid compared to Americans, and said 14 year olds in America learn what Kiwis learn at the age of 17. And that half the school children in New Zealand wouldn't be allowed to play on sports teams for their poor performance and poor grades if they were transplanted to the States. This was also confirmed by another American exchange student who said "yeah, school is here soft and easy compared to the States". I think the teacher snapped because he got sick of the Bush era "lolololol Americans are stoopid redneck" rhetoric.
