It's an abstract love of the idea of cops, as sold to them via media. Everything from police dramas, to the show cops, to watching the local news. But everyone actually hates the fucking cops. The back the blue people are just one traffic ticket away from going full 1312 acab. It's only the bad guys hate the cops until they get hassled by a cop (even if the reason is totally valid)
