The city of Nantes in France will be investing 2.5M euros to make the non tourist friendly part of the Recife oldtown more tourist friendly. I don't see what the city of Nantes gets in return, apparently some people in Europe decided at random that Nantes is Recife's sister city and that apparently means they have to give us free stuff, not that I am complaning.

It's quite hard to be outside during certain hours of the day, the sun burns you like a toast and you sweat like a boiling keetle, people in rural areas reserve those hours to take a break and rest since it's too hot to do manual labor outside, this culture has not stuck with employers in cities. Thankfully I work in an office

literally ruined the park, why did they do that?

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

to make room for markets and events I imagine.

They did something like this in my village where they turned the road that went through the center of the village into a plaza, and unsurprisingly nearly all the businesses on it died. The bakery, the butchery, the bar, etc.

They relied on the street providing them free parking space I presume

Odd choice considering that Nantes was famous for it's slave traders while Recife was the first dedicated slave port in the Americas

America has lots of places that 'look European', but they resemble England (and especially Georgian England, from which they became independent). The classic weatherboarded homes are a development from Kentish and East Anglian styles, and now spread from New England to the Pacific Coast.

Nantes is a leftist shithole since it's been run by a w*man, no surprise here
>>
wasn't Nantes ruled by Stanisław Leszczyński? Also, isn't there some french cake named after him?

Nantes is the quintessential leftist city, in the past decade they let in so many raging africans and nafris that there's knife crimes daily kek
Ofc they get free stuff too, it's genuinely absurd
Though I'm not against funding parts of a renovation for our latinx brothers in the new world
