For what reason?Humans cannot discern reason from nature. You might as well be asking why natural disasters exist.It doesn't matter whether you believe in God or are an atheist. You either believe God works in mysterious ways (not in such a manner as to excuse God of inflicting pain upon humans, but as an admission that His choices are beyond human understanding), or acknowledge that the forces which led to our creation and govern everything do not operate within the boundaries of human reason.
