The USA has more history and culture than the majority of the fake countries in Europe, but this coming from a Poolish flag of all places is hilarious.

>live in a city founded in 1095
>princedom, which this city belonged to, had its capital completely destroyed by the Mongols in the 1237s
>fast forward to the 18th century, and your city gets the name of that long-destroyed princely capital despite the fact that its ruins are some 50 km away from your city
Anyone knows that feel?

I tought this church was demolished by an earthquake or something and they wanted to replace it with a modern monstrosity. Did they finally rebuilt it?

The oldest building a walking distance from me is a majestic tower in working condition and its pretty tall
When I first moved here I thought it used to be part of castle or it was a watchtower for an important baron or burger
It was part of a barn, the owner was just a random no name peasant, there is nothing historical of note related to the tower in almost 900 years it survived by pure luck

Drake claimed 'Nova Albion', a chunk of California, in the 1570s, but it came to nothing.
Roanoke was the first attempted settlement, in Virginia, in the 1580s.
Jamestown was the first permanent and enduring colony, and that was established in 1607 AD.
The tower of [pic related] church is the only surviving structure from the original Jamestown settlement, and built in the late 1630s
