We have this problem here too. It is fixed by just building more than one exit from the suburb.

There is fundamentally nothing wrong with suburbs. Through in a few more shops and miniparks and you're good.

the parks are great here, I live in Leeds which is the greenest city in 5he UK by tree density. There's a massive park near where I live which has kilometres of uninterrupted tree canopies
