>>215990072that's against personal liberties
>>215990072you cant force someone to recover from addiction. it has to be something the addict wants. The only real solution is making material conditions better so people aren't attracted to drugs but that's not what anyone really wants because that's not how capitalist society is structured. Capitalism needs a large underclass to be the prey in the economic food pyramid. these people are just human sacrifices to the almighty dollar.

Growing up here in Sweden I was always told to never, EVER use credit cards or buy things on credit. Both in school, by my parents and even on infomercials on tv constantly talking about the dangers of credit cards. So I've always used cash/debit cards and nothing else. It was pretty much common sense for everyone. Then some fuckhead Swedes started Klarna and it spread over Sweden like wildfire. "Buy now, pay later" absolutely raped everyone with low impulse control. Never used it myself, I refused. Then Klarna spread to other Euro countries. And then America... It was like watching the plague go from town to town. Sorry, rant over. Will never use credit cards, I have a house mortgage and that's the only loan I will ever have.
>>215990213they weren't physically addicted when they started, all you're doing in that scenario is making them dry out for a bit.
>>215989167I remember talking about this with my american friends and they thought it was the most normal thing in the world however they were also the same dudes who made memes about the chinese social credit without self awareness.
>>215990249>they weren't physically addicted when they startedYes, but a physical addiction makes them continue taking drugs, basically one bad decision dooms them for the rest of their lives.

>>215990225This. I have friends who are 10k+ euro in debt from Klarna.
>>215990386wtf
>>215990370Doesn't work like that here. They max out their debt, quit their jobs, become neets and live on bux. Then they meet some other white trash person, have kids and get more bux because of it. White trash are easily the people who breed the most here. You walk through any grocery store and the largest families you will see are two fat white parents (with tattoos and shit) and 3-4 kids running around like crazy.

>>215990404Retards buy stuff they don't need with Klarna, when the bill arrives they see the "change into Klarna account" option (lets you pay the debt over a 24 month period with added interest). The start doing that, later they buy something else on that account because they "need it" and the sum goes up. Klarna is one of the major reasons people are in debt here.
>>215990667I don't know how people don't get offended when someone offers them a loan that includes interest, the very implication being that someone will suck more money out of you than they're willing to offer you, making your worse off in the long run.

>>215989552>the entire financial system is built on credit ratingYours maybe.>if america didn't have credit cards the gdp would shrink by halfBecause people forget to pay back their loans or what? Credit card companies don't make money unless people pay interest on their loans.

>>215995666>>215995749I can't tell if you're genuinely serious or just joking.
>>215995719No? Loans are income based here. They do a check of you income, current loans/debt etc to see how much you can safely loan and base it upon that.
>>215996068Do I believe you or all the other Europeans in this thread?
>>215995719The requirements for a loan at my bank is the following >18 or older >employed for at least 6 months >minimum income of 10 000 kr (around €1000) per month That's the basic requirements but will not grant you a loan on itself. The amount they allow you to loan is based on your salary and what they call "risk markers" which are things like >do you have other loans already? >do you have any previous unpaid debt? >general monthly expenses It's basically a check to see how much you can actually pay back on a loan realistically. Then there's a cap on loans anyway called "Skuldkvotstak" which goes "common rule that the loan must not exceed approximately 5.5 times your annual income". So in fact, a credit card is most of the time an obstacle to getting a loan because any credit used on it will be deducted from the amount you can loan. Lets say you got a credit card debt of 741 bucks. That is then counted and removed with interest added.
