I want to be unemployed so fucking bad. I have enough money saved that I could survive for at least a year on my own without any income, or longer if I went back to live with my parents (although they’d probably make me get a wagie job). I just need a period of having free time so I can get back into the flow of my creative hobbies that I've practically abandoned since joining the work force. It’s insane how draining just an office job is on the human mind.

I uh received news from my agency about a position in mid September, negotiated daily rate, scheduled an interview and agency gave my contact to their assistant, then haven't heard anything in a month, and the agency also said they have updates about the family's location but not sure what happens now. So yeah I have no fucking idea. Because this isn't a company but a role with a private family it seems to work around their personal schedule, and they've been traveling. But it would also work out well if I was called to work in November, because this month is busy for me. It's my dream role however. Ample time off with rotational schedule, high pay, duties I am experienced and excel in, and travel perks. I'm just waiting here while celebrating my life meanwhile. This is my favorite time of year.
Oh btw unemployed for several years now, did some gigs to get by and then started dating someone who works. I'm being taken care of but I wish for my career to continue again so I can get into other projects of which I need funding.

Americans can stay visa free in Albania for a year. Bulgaria is also cheap but you'll get three months only. Easy to go in and out of schengen and live cheaply.

Last time I went to an interview there was over a hundred people who had interviews before/after me. They of course picked someone with the most experience, best education etc aka not me. Been to over 50 interviews in two years. Zero job offers.

If someone wants to just live cheaply for a year from the US they should go to a poor city/town or mexico. The shit you put into a CV can easily be fantasies so they will grill the shit out of you for details, previous workplace contact information, proof of education etc. And of course they will judge you as a person. I don't know what system France uses but this is pretty universal. The interview queue is something most people hate.
