Do people in your country make food analogies for literally everything too?

It's a piece of cake to use them.

A favourite of mine is this Malay saying: alang-alang menyeluk pekasam, biar sampai ke pangkal lengan. Pekasam is a type of pickled freshwater fish that has a stinky smell. The saying translates as: if you're going to dip your hand into the pekasam jar, then you might as well dip your entire arm in it. It means if you're going to do something, especially if it is unpleasant, you might as well go all the way.
