Why is the idea that free speech meaning you have the right to believe something in your head, instead of having the right to express that belief, so prevalent? It's an idea so absurd that it should disqualify you from engaging in any form of public debate, but I think at least 25% of people genuinely believe it. Even some people I used to think were pretty smart fall for this moronic interpretation of free speech.
