>>216042841This is so fucking sad. I live in a lower-middle-class private apartment. When I was a kid, Halloween was the most fun time of the year. It was the only time I had minimal contact with my neighbors and the kids where I lived, and I didn't feel like I was in a shithole. Over time, the people who had lived here the longest either left or died. After the pandemic, the new residents' association wanted to ban Halloween, but due to the persistence of some parents, they failed. They did ask people who wanted to participate to put up a decoration on their door so children would know which doors to ask for candy at, and they threatened to fine anyone who asked for candy at homes without decorations. I think it's only a matter of time before they ban it completely.
