>>216043114my country is a failed project.
>>216043136sad but true
>>216043136We will join you soon
CAHSR definitively isn't failed considering 55 miles of it exist between SF and San Jose, and the Central Valley segment will exist due to a similar arraignment between the state HSR authority and the San Joaquins JPA. This is why the San Joaquins are rebranding into Gold Runner. The splice between the two networks is in Merced and includes a new maintenance depot that will consolidate maintenance operations across all three (HSR, San Joaquins/Gold Runner, and ACE) which will reduce costs. Since the San Joaquins is Amtrak's 5th route nationally, 3rd if we ignore the Northeast Corridor, the resulting service is likely to be successful as Sacramento-Bakersfield trip times drop from 6 hours to 90 min.So far things are going down pretty much like Jerry Brown predicted, if they didn't start in Fresno to Wasco the entire project would be completely dead by now.
>>216043114Texas hasn't even started its high speed rail project yet but it'll get done before Commiefornia's
why are leftoids so obsessed with high speed rail? just because a bunch of chinkstates and eurowhos built them in the early 2000s doesn't mean we should waste tax payer money on those projects for decades.
I'm my parents' failed project
>>216043704Texas banned it's high speed rail project with new legislation because, literally, Governor Hotwheels said he doesn't want it. Texas is not getting high speed rail to anywhere except OKC. And this assumes Amtrak even lives that long as the DOGE cuts, Big Beautiful Bill cuts, government budget cuts, government shutdown and pretty much all the Jews within the Trump admin want Amtrak defunded and shut down. Which means OK, Dallas and Ft. Worth will have to stump up more money soon. There's a reason why California and Illinois are getting the new Venture trainsets and not Texas lol
They're still building the first high speed rail in Brazil. The project started in 2010 to get ready for the World Cup in 2014.My picture is what they have built so far.
>>216043776>Kneecap your own infrastructure to own the libs Unironically why the FUCK do Anglophone right wingers do this shit? In Australia we have similar thinking retardation a lot of the time, it's actually fucking mind boggling to behold. What the fuck is their problem?
>>216043735Because it fixes California's broken transit network. The entire point of California High Speed Rail is to have the ability to take a train direct from San Francisco to Los Angeles and San Diego. This is currently not possible because Oakland abandoned their train station after Loma Prieta, the only transbay train bridge burnt down, and LA Union Station never installed run-through tracks. Instead, boomers built 580 which doesn't even connect properly to SF because Caltrans wanted motorists to take the Bay Bridge not 92. Boomers also built 280, which doesn't have a good connection to I-5 because Caltrans wants drivers to pay a bridge toll and sit in traffic on 880 instead.
>>216043864boomers are legitimately stupid and hate civilization, any attempt to make a collective civil engineering project will always be opposed by them because it implies a collective social responsibility
>>216043776That's some evil shit.
>>216043886Honestly yeah, this phenomen applies here too, Boomers just HATE anything pertaining to Nation building, collective achievement, community, and societal well-being, they're (as a generation) just a bunch of greedy individualistic hedonists whose idea of "good society" is just endless suburban houses and unnecessarily driving 4WD SUVs in a city. Fucking mind boggling to behold.
>>216043893Everyone is up in arms now over Trump taking away California's Federal HSR money and giving it to other states, but it's not as amusing as Ohio, Texas and Florida returning their 2008 HSR money to the Obama admin who promptly split it between California and Chicago.
>>216043646It should not have cost this much and taken this long to build it. The corruption and incompetence that has gone on is absurd. 3rd world tier.
>>216044206What the hell
>>216043776How fucking retarded do you have to be to turn down free infrastructure from the Feds? lmao. Rail is basic shit for a developed economy.
>>216043735Why do Americoids think this is a leftoid/rightoid thing? Comfy and efficient long distance mass transit benefits everyone. Plus you literally are a fucking contiguous country unlike our archipelagic asses which makes HSR extremely feasible.Imagine defending the humiliation ritual that is domestic flight lmao.
>>216043776HSR and trains in general are not efficient, cars and planes carry more goods and people than shitty trains worshiped by libshits.
>>216044368cool story but I'm tired of sitting on 101
>>216044309In 2008 Obama gave states money for HSR and in 2010 the Tea Party won in several states. The Tea Party doesn't believe in mass transit so they just returned the money and Obama gave it to states that wanted it. In California's case, most of Ohio's returned money went to the Wasco Viaduct.
>>216044294>The corruption and incompetence that has gone on is absurd. Less than BART and that's all that matters.
>>216044395then get plane ticket and stop complaining about the traffic

Ironically, it is also the only realistic path to Texas HSR because the tracks already support 150 mph with minimal upgrades.
>>216044744The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal was first suggested to Trump be Pelosi in 2018 and she cut it off when he called her retarded on twitter for unrelated reasons. Biden had the Biden Inflation Act but Trump cancelled it with DOGE and the Big Bill.
>>216045081>Americans can lose their infrastructure funding if their politicians have a fight on twitter
>>216045150It was the dumbest move Trump ever did. Leftists were extremely mad at Pelosi for negotiating with him in the first place, and were preparing to challenge her Speakership. In two tweets Trump stopped that. This put Pelosi on the road that ended with his post-Presidency Impeachment in 2021. It's no different than the current government shutdown but with the Mexican Jefferies pictures Trump and Vance keep tweeting. I'm pretty confident Trump will be the first President Impeached, Convicted and removed from office in 2027.
Reminder that the reason why it's taking so long is because the Californian High Speed Rail Authority is basically learning how to make a high speed rail from scratch after they brushed off experienced firms like France's SNCF who went on to build Al Boraq in Morocco which is now operational. So instead of being advised by people who have done this before they're doing it all in house at 5x the costAlso, the route they chose was retardissimo they should have gone on the I 5 corridor
>>216045199They're just going to rig the midterms. We're stuck with this retard and his clique for a long time.
>>216045215SNCF was done with America after their failed bid to woo Texas in the 90s resulting in >>216043776 SNCF didn't want anything to do with California due to the Power Crisis, Arnold being elected, and the extremely high costs inherent in tunnel boring under California's mountain ranges vs Texas's flat plains. But ultimately it was Texas Republicans formally, in writing, telling SNCF to fuck off with their socialist big government communism train that got them out of America. They still provided the Acela trains for Amtrak's NYC-Boston electrification project, which worked well although the HHP-8s didn't pan out.>Also, the route they chose was retardissimo they should have gone on the I 5 corridorThis is shared by many but ultimately I-5 doesn't hit downtown Fresno or Bakersfield so those places don't have any reason to cooperate with the state when they already have downtown train service. This was acknowledged by Governor Brown and is why the Valley-To-Valley plan using US-99 was chosen despite flaws.
>>216045218Trump can probably rig elections in every southern state except Florida but it won't happen west of Texas, north of Raleigh or in any state that fought for the Union. Most of the country is just over Trump, most Americans are exhausted, and Trump's shitposting isn't funny anymore. Trump can't even deliver on lower grocery prices or lower gas prices. It all comes down to Texas but this is a poor strategy when Trump isn't helping younger people get jobs or buy homes.

>>216045633Not him but imagine being this much of a spastic contrarian. A fuckton of the government's responsibilities and obligations are innately unprofitable, because the cost of a private state doing it is either too expensive or have very long/non-existent RoI. Many energy projects basically require government subsidies because several construction delays can turn a "okay we got this" to "RIP, OH GOD PLEASE END ME." levels of financial loss.
>>216046009למה לא פירסמת ת׳ גוגוסים
>>216046048Okay, but high speed rail networks are not a critically necessary form of infrastructure like power plants and as such. They are mostly a novelty for tourists and heavily underused most of the time.It is the prime example of a vanity pet project pushed by leftard politicians to make themselves and their cities as more developed, with no regard to actual need or profitability. The US has a very well-developed freight train network. They don't have high speed rail because domestic flight is better for the purpose of traveling across the country. And many energy projects are in fact useless vanity projects or scams designed to enrich friends of politicians. Especially green energy like the notorious case of Solyndra.>spastic contrarianCool it with the name-calling, LEFTARD FAGGOT.
>>216046174>high speed rail networks are not a critically necessary form of infrastructure like power plants and as such.Because a rail line carries ~830 for one trip that is a ton of cars off the road and potential shitty/drunk drivers.
For the record, I don't want a spic talking down to me and the wetback ITT needs to watch his tone when talking about America. Trump is bombing his communist drug boats right now and can step on your government at any time.
>>216045633China has the worst traffic jams in the world every golden week holidays due to people commuting back to their hometown from the cities and again when they return. In China's case it is likely necessary and also efficient due to how packed together Chinese cities are.

>>216046241Won't work in the US because public transportation is synonymous to proximity to niggers, which is essentially a death sentence. The #1 priority for the socially net positive contributor White American is to avoid niggers at any cost. This is why they are so "stubborn" about being able to get anywhere in their car (they're just being rational). You could argue that then it'll be useful to transport niggers, and they will be the users, but that assumes niggers will be willing to pay for it and won't just sneak in and get a free ride like they usually do.Passenger trains or buses are not a suitable option in a society in which people are forced to coexist with feral animals in all public spaces.Passenger flights are an exception to this because airplanes are a high security environment and strictly policed. Most ooga booga chimping out is prevented in them and most of the poorest niggers can't afford to fly or are too stupid to follow the simple instructions required to get on the plane.
>>216044537Japan's train companies are all privately companies. Some are technically public in that they're publicly traded, but the point is they're not run by the government. In the Americas it's more profitable to run freight trains than commuter rail, so that's what our train companies do.

Probably the ciudad real airport. It was supposed to compete to a degree against Barajas as another airport for Madrid, far away from Madrid. Then Barajas was expanded. They never got connected to the high speed rail network as was the idea. The runway is long enough to allow for the landing of A380s but the aiport saw just like 17.000 passangers before it was closed down and sold for nothing after 1 billions euros of investement.
