My family, my world
>>
>>216045412
Auxiliary verb should be plural

Kith and kin, thick and thin

The family is a single thing.
>>
Is. Family is a singular noun.

I wouldn't

"Is" of course.
>>
Laundromat is the plural of Laundromat.

"I went speeding past all the laundromat"
>>
>>216045412
"My family are my world"

is referring to specific members of that family, they are the focus of that statement, as such it is strange to use the singular form of 'family'.
>>

>is referring to specific members of that family
It is not referring to specific members. It is referring to a group. Idiot.
>>
My life my rules my style my attitude
>>
>>216046332
it's referring to personal relationships with members of that group.
>>
>>216046372
It is not referring to personal relationships. It is referring to a group, you dumb cunt.
>>
>>216046381
you don't have a personal relationship with a group, a family is not a hive-mind.
>>
>>216046396
If you’re referring to the family as a collective it’s accurate
>>
>>216045412
Is. I'm not going to trust niggas who say bo'a o' wa'a or who pronounce lieutenant as lephtant
>>
>>216046421
however you refer to a family, it is not a hive-mind, a family is composed of individual members with their own wills and personalities.
"My family are my world" highlights the personal relationships between the speaker and individual family members, personal relationships which are numerous, more than one, as such it is inappropriate to consider 'family' as a singular noun, as you might an army, which won't share as close a personal bond with the speaker and the individual members of that army.

Americans don't even pronounce the 't' in 'water', they replace it with a 'd' to say 'wadder'.
>>
>>216045412
is, obviously. a family is a single thing, despite being made up of multiple people. you wouldn't say "there are a school of fish", you would say "there is a school of fish".
