Do you have technology in your country
>>216108166I'm smart enough to not buy a smart bed
>"smart" product>is actually dumb afhow many times?
>>216108166the only smart products in my house are my TV (which I never use with the shiity LG webos anyways) and robot vaccum+mop combo thing
>>216108166Anyone who knows a little bit in tech wouldn't buy such modern shit."smart home" which cannot operate without connecting to clouds located in China. Very good and safe system, indeed.
>>216108166Every time my mom wants to buy a new appliance she always wants the new one that connects to her phone or whatever bs for absolutely no benefit "but I can see when the dishwasher cycle is over and I get a notification it's so neat" so??. I try to convince her every time not to but she calls me "cheap like your father" for not wanting to get the expensive stuff. I still love her but it's a lost battle. She also wants to get a digital lock for our home, which I think it's even more idiotic, and I'm trying to tell her it's a terrible idea.
people will never learn
>EVERYTHING. MUST CONNECTED. TO THE SERVER.
>>216108307The "cloud" is just someone elses computer
>>216108462That's what I don't understand. Why can't these companies make a smart home which runs locally?
>>216108520some dogenerally even more expensive and you have to fuck around with local server bullshitbasically too complicated for the average normie that buys into IoT bullshit
>>216108166You can apparently jailbreak these beds and run them locally with some github code lolBed piracy
>>216108520>the Pods’ MSRPs range from $2,449 to $3,249, and the base has a $1,950 MSRP. Eight Sleep also sells its Autopilot feature through an annual subscription that starts at $199. subscription fees
>>216108166What even are the functions of a smart bed? Adjustable head/middle/legparts (especially for older people) and heat blankets are commonplace.>>216108202This.
>>216108166Yeah, Amazon prime was down :( couldn’t watch Home Of Horror stuff (I still know what you did last summer)
>>216108166People keep posting this shit, but that's not even the WORST part about the (((smart))) bed.The issue isn't that the bed costs $2000 or that it's connected to the internet and can overheat and be stuck on incline. It's the fact that the bed has a SUBSCRIPTION model that costs $200 a fucking month. You need to pay $200 a month in order to adjust your bed's temperature and incline. It also records and sends 20GB worth of your data to who knows who gets it every month.
>>216109578As retarded as smart glasses that block your sight if you forget to pay the monthly subscription
>>216108166This would never have happened with a product Made in Germany.
>>216109578>It's the fact that the bed has a SUBSCRIPTION model that costs $200 a fucking monthI bet the people paying that and the people saying they live paycheck to paycheck making 100k a year are the same people
