>>
>>216131493
The of isn't necessary in this context.
>Most Americans speak poorly
Now you can put the of in technically but it just sounds awkward and forced, it's for some reason more acceptable when speaking formally or technically, for instance
>The data shows the majority of Americans actually are extremely attractive and intelligent, speak five languages and have big penises
But you see here I used "the majority of" rather than "most of" because that's just the natural way to say it in conversational but formal English.

>>
>>216131548
kek got it, thanks
>>
>>216131584
So you see, you could almost consider the "of" here like a vestigial part, grammatically permissible but conversationally awkward.
Would you like us to explain it more :^)

>>216131548
>The majority of Americans
>Most Americans
In the first one "majority" and "americans" are both nouns. In the second, "most" is an adjective describing the specific "Americans." That's why there's an "of."

formatted like this it's fine, but the original version (without a comma and as an imperative rather than a question) is an incorrect formation of what should just be "tell me what he said"

My Peruvian fiancee has been learning English since she was seven but she still mixes up in/on in some edge cases. As for pronunciation she's improved a lot through my coaching, but the short i and the voiced th remain challenges. Recently for practice I've had her say the phrase "hither and thither" over and over until she gets it right.

Yes. Your dog can't be underneath the covers?
>>
>>216136474
It can, but "in bed" is a phrase whereas "in the bed" isn't.
Also, the connotation of the phrase goes beyond describing the location of someone.
