we usually say "acıktım/açım" (i got hungry/i'm hungry) but "karnım acıktı" (my belly got hungry) is also common

we dont say that.
most people say "minulla on nälkä" which means "i have hunger". you could also just say "on nälkä" (am hungry/ have hunger) because the pronoun often is not necessary since the person who is hungry is obvious.
the other way to say is "(minä) olen nälkäinen which would translate as "i am hungry", but most people dont say it like that cause it sounds very awkward and official.

i have no idea where "hunger is upon me" came from.
that would in finnish be "nälkä vaivaa minua" which literally translates as "hunger troubles me". probably a translation error by whichever brown engagement farm goon made that shit map

But we just say "I am hungry" tho
>Es esmu izsalcis
"I have become hungry" would be
>(Es) esmu kļuvis izsalcis
which I guess I have heard people say but I am not sure, it's not something you take note of.

Usually people just say "I want to eat".
