Things have been going very well. Everybody has been really kind, I already got a small group of Spanish friends at the local bar and bought a small and cheap car. In a country of 3.5m people, we have 500k Venezuelans. All the educated, well-off people from that country went to Europe or the US, we got all the rats. We where once booming in economy, now we're stuck sucking both the US and China's dicks. For the first time, someone broke into my house and stole everything and it had to be Venezuelans. Every single restaurant now offers tequeños, our culture replaced. Of course parts of the population is happy they have cheap labor and food deliverymen, it's the same in Europe or the US. I can't say I hate all Venezuelans, but I wish all the ones who arrived here would vanish or disappear.

Even at the mid level, you have states selectively granting tax breaks to Amazon, NVIDIA, TSMC, etc. And at the low levels, towns and cities are extremely picky about what they allow to be built. I don’t think we should raise corporate taxes, but we should start trust-busting again. Land taxes would be a better way to tax wealth without the chance of evasion.
