Many such cases in German children television. The same goes for Nils Holgersson, Pinocchio, Alfred Jodocus Kwak, Ciao Marco, Anne mit den roten Haaren, Heidi, etc.. All Japanese produced anime (Yeah, the source material is mostly from European books but you get the idea. Talking about the animation that aired.).
I watched most of these and they're actual good family shows. My mother watched it in her childhood and so have I. I also watched Pepee but it's rather mid and like Caillou.
