Croatia had the status of a separate kingdom, a parliament, a government, a passport, a national football team and a league... Along with Croatia, only Austria and Hungary had that, no one else. The country was actually ruled by the Croatian aristocracy. The recognition of the third unit would only be formal, and this actually happened a few days before the declaration of Yugoslavia, official celebrations were even organized. The Hungarians fiercely resisted that idea until the last moment, and that's why it's better that we left that community, the other thing is that Yugoslavia was even worse for us, but we couldn't have known that at the time, and Croatia is the homeland of pan-Slavism anyway. In our heads, we have long crossed out Austrians and Hungarians as people with whom we can come to an agreement. The 'Italians' made up maybe 5-10% of the population in Dalmatia, Austria supported them for a very long time, but in the end, due to the change in geopolitics and reality on the ground, they could no longer do so. So, fuck AU monarchy, fuck Yugoslavia.
