Everyone can tell btw when you think in english and try to hammer it back into your native vocabulary it sounds uncanny don't ever talk about anything you learn from english people with anyone in real life they'll automatically assume you're a queer/retard

A girl from my country once asked me why I spoke English better than my own language. That was after she rejected me, btw.

Muy bien, muy bien

I have this, it's made worse by the fact that my native language is some sort of pidgin that is useless for expressing any deep thoughts and it gets awkward trying to communicate anything complex without using weird structures and translating idioms

English actually became more popular than Spanish because it's able to be precise which is useful for higher thought.
If you know English it's normal to think about abstracts in English
German, French, Russian and Latin are also decent for this which is why so much is translated between them.
Asian languages are generally pretty bad at this which holds them back somewhat.

that's a claim I've never heard before
any examples of this?
>>
>>216255333
I don't know what you want as an example
Look how much literature was published in English before it even became the world language

Go to chatgpt, I just pasted >>216255139
And asked it to expand and it have some interesting examples
I asked between English and Japanese

I fed it that and it agreed and gave some examples, I then gave it the exact opposite claim and it did the same for it, supporting it as well and coming up with examples
ChatGPT will just agree with your premise and provide whatever support it can for it, these concepts aren't really scientific so they're open to interpretation and subjective takes like this

This has to be bait lol.
English being popular has more to do with how successful English-speaking societies are in this age, most of the current advances in knowledge are in English, so you have to speak English to remain in the know and communicate with others who may not speak your native language.
If English-speaking societies begin to decline at some point, there may come a time English becomes relatively irrelevant, just like it happened to Ancient Greek or Latin (irrelevant in the sense that not much is published in that language).
Yes, Spain and its related countries are underrepresented in scientific discoveries compared to countries like France, Germany, and Great Britain; but I think that has more to do with the fact that Spain was crumbling (and never really recovered) during the period of history where science began taking off.

>corneriser
What does it mean?
>>
>>216256988
i don't even know how to explain it, they say it to mean cornered(coincé in french) but they use the english root corner then frenchify it, pure linguistic schizo shit, I meant to post it in the thread about Americanization

My parents are both monolingual. Neither of them has a passport, and neither of them has ever been outside the continental United States.

All of the above is true of me as well, except I have a passport (just as a curiosity, no intention ever to use it) and although I remember a bit of Spanish from high school I can't hold a conversation in Spanish.
