if there food is so good why does nobody ever say "let's go eat at a brazilian restaurant"
>>
>>216280548
because good beef cuts are expensive as fuck for most people...
>>
>if there food is so good
says who? but I recall brazilian steakhouses being a thing, even though they're quite overrated, as grilled meat tends to be.
>>
>>216280548
theyre all eating at canadian restaurants instead
>>
>>216280548
marketing mostly
peruvian food is good also but they are just starting to market their food so only foodies know about it.
I like both argentinian and brazilian barbecues in equal measure but one is worldwide known meanwhile the other isn't, sometimes it's random.
One day our salteñas will be like hotdogs around the world but it only needs some sidney sweeney to taste it and promote in their socials for it to happen, it's a very solid empanada.
>>
>>216280548
people do say this in connecticut, shoutout minas carne
>>
>>216280684
RARE
>>
>>216280548
they're gatekeeping it
i just know it
it's like when they tell /int/ brazil is bad and so on when in reality even favela gangsters are nice and friendly

fogo de chao is popular in the US.

Can’t speak for Canada, but there’s a Brazilian boteco I quite enjoy. The owners are from São Paulo and are very friendly. Brazilian food is becoming more and more common

I typically order Coxhinas and arroz do pato. I also like their Garota de Ipanema cocktail. Brigadeiros are pretty meh but my mom likes them
>>
>>216280548
people say that in my country
>>
>>216280548
I have never heard anybody hype Brazilian food.
Anon is this another case of you forgetting to take your schizophrenia meds and making a thread about something you heard in a fever dream?

Our culinary identity is not very defined
>>
Fumo de rolo arreio de cangalha
Eu tenho pra vender, quem quer comprar
Bolo de milho broa e cocada
Eu tenho pra vender, quem quer comprar
Pé de moleque, alecrim, canela
Moleque sai daqui me deixa trabalhar
E Zé saiu correndo pra feira de pássaros
E foi pássaro voando pra todo lugar
Tinha uma vendinha no canto da rua
Onde o mangaieiro ia se animar
Tomar uma bicada com lambu assado
E olhar pra Maria do Joá

I say this all the time
>>
Because 90% of the time, it's just beans and rice and meat.
Just like I saw batata inglesa in Rio and thought "you could have copied any of our dishes and chose the most boring"
>>
>>216280548
Said no one ever, if anything people say our food is bad
>>

brazilian food is good, but i think most of it cannot be turned into fast food slop that most young people love these days.
my favorites are feijão tropeiro and cassava/beef jerky escondidinho
>>
>>216280548
i have no idea what brazillian cuisine is nor do i ever hear it being mentioned in any context
>>
>>216283751
How the hell is Picanha Brazilian, when it's just a cut of beef? You don't season it or cook it in some unique way.
>>
these cuts are cooked in an unique distinctive way.
in the case of picanha:
it's cut in thick curved “C” shapes with the fat layer on the outside, this exposes the fat directly to the heat and protects the meat inside from drying out
once cooked the skewer is brought to the table and the outer crust is sliced off thinly, then it's put back on direct fire

I just don't think they can bring their unique ingredients over here because there's no supply chain.
otherwise its just western food with rice and beans.
The only thing that is successful, although it isn't a restaurant food is acai bowls.
>>
Turns out OP was just a misinformed faggot as always.
>>
>>216280930
It's not in Brazil. In fact it's considered a scam.
>>
>>216287309
Isn't Australia a major beef producer? Rice can be gotten from Asia, the beans could be replaced by something else.
>>
Argentinian beef is popular here
>>
>>216280548
Because it isn't
Just forget about Brazil

There is a big difference between tipical food and traditional food.

this is true. brazilian steakhouses here tend to be buffets with expensive entry fees, but you can get way more than just steak.
>>
>>216288150
Yes. Those things are fine.
But fresh plantains aren't available here.
In general they're hard to find.
I'm sure there's other ingredients I don't know about too.
>>
>>216289409
Probably cassava as well, dried beef (in the way it's made here), passion fruit (used in desserts).... but most ingredients are easy to find anywhere i guess
Cassava probably would be the main problem
>>
>>216289495
i thought cassava was common everywhere
people here eat a lot of cassava

>if there food is so good
Said no one ever. Our food is like our music, it's for Brazilians. I don't think we make anything with foreigners in mind.
>>
>>216280548
I eat in fogo bbq once. They are okay.

I can't. I just learned Brazil is larger than the continental USA by a bit. What are you guys hiding down there?

Aren't salteñas literally from Salta (Argentina)???
>>
>>216280548
Their food has a lot of similarities to our own so their cuisine mixes with ours but Brazilian churrasco is pretty well known, I really like picanha
