Extinction disrupts the ecosystem. There could be nth order effects that are bad for us. Hard to predict.

Losing the past has precious consequences. We humans are special in being able to preserve history, and just like our primal instincts to mate, we also wish to leave something behind for the future before we perish

Despite what other people say ("you are cruel because of bullfighting), we expend a lot of money in maintaining all of our fauna in lots of conservation programs.

Spain holds 50% of all fauna and flora biodiversity of all of Europe combined.

Spain holds around half or more of Europe’s biodiversity in many taxonomic groups: roughly ~50% of fauna (animals) and ~59% of vascular plants (in the given data) of Europe. Periods of endemism are even higher.

Spain enjoys a very high level of biodiversity in Europe. Below are key figures and explanations:

According to the Organisation for Economic Co‑operation and Development (OECD), Spain hosts over 8,000 species of vascular plants, which represent about 80% of all such species found in Europe, and around 59% of the total on the European continent. Spain also has around 142,000 species of fauna, which the OECD estimates at about 50% of all species in Europe.

According to a report from the Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico (MITECO) of Spain, there are approximately 80,000 taxa recorded in Spain. Within that: 8,000 species of vascular plants (over 80% of the EU total, 59% of the European continent) and more than 50% of the fauna species found in Europe.
MITECO

Additional detail: about 30% of all endemic European species are found in Spain, including about 25‑30% of vascular plants and 64% of amphibians.

>>
>>216327608
95% of the bears in Iberia are in Asturias-Cantabria, nothing to do with Pirineos. So, he probably walked through Leon.

Even worst, a french hunter killed the last original Pirineos bear and they have had to bring bears from Slovenia to the Pirineos.

But those in the Cantabrico are Iberian Bears.

>>
>>216328244
You have them because half of your country is basically uninhabited. It is difficult that in southern Europe we have bears, wolves and lynx, our OWN subspecies.

Iberia bear, Iberian wolf, Iberian lynx. It is not the "eurasiatic lynx" like you have. It is our own subspecies.
>>

BUAH TÍO CHAVAL ES CÓMO UN POKÉMON SHINY DE ESOS
>>
>>216317181
I think it's funny that "shiny" is an international term because of English.
We only call them shiny because of the little twinkle the sprite does when you first encounter them in the 2D games, I think.

In the original Japanese games they just call them "different colored" and have no idea wtf we mean by "shiny"

Funny that kids called Pokemon shiny irrespective of where they lived here. We got Pokemon Gen 2 day 1 and we've been calling them shiny without talking to each other over the internet.
