I don't think ESLs will ever understand how much bullshit native english speakers have to put up with. We have NOWHERE to hide. There's no such thing as an english speaking community where you can reasonably expect that everyone you're talking to is another anglo. Poles know that they're invariably talking to another pole with a similar worldview and civilisational values whenever they use their language, so do chinese people and turks. meanwhile the entire world uses our communities as their garbage dump. It's exhausting and I'm sick of it.
