It is a long list of rationalizations and rite-like behavior, where you at times blame foreign agents victimizing your country to inflict its ills, and at times producing asense of blind compassion for your countrymen, justifying their actions as part of their nature. There's a third form of patriotism, that comes over to delusion. It is a state where you actively exaggerate whatever in your head you have defined as "of your country". Where you replace your morality for a religious obedience to an ideal of what a member of your nation is, and that everything that happens in it is some sort of perfect natural order wich the whole world is destined to follow.Indians are an excellent source sample of all three forms of patriotism interact with each other and that of other countries, where you can witness first hand the nationalism that led to the congress of Vienna , the American independence wars, the world wars, and in general how nationalism rots the brain
