Tipping happens in your country?
>>
>>216417508
>times it by 4
Imagine tipping 40% wtf
>>
I always tip especially if I'm a repeat customer because I don't want the workers there to start to hate me and spit on my food o algo así.
>>
okay
then nobody goes out to eat, and you get fired or replaced by a $5k bot in 2027
>>
>times it
Just say "multiply." You're not 12.

>I am being extorted money because I don’t want bad things happening to me
>I will defend this practice to the grave
literal Stockholm syndrome shit

Why are my countrymen unable to speak the only language they have to learn?
>>
I have no idea why it's legal for businesses to only pay servers $5/hr
>>
I tend to tip ~10%, unless there is a service fee already in, then I don't tip.
Would I get beaten up in the US?
>>
>>216417615
Two multiply two is four.
>>
>>216417508
> move decimal over one
wtf?? just say divide by 10?
>>
>>216417897
Multiply is a verb, "times" is not. Your sentence is wrong because there are two verbs with two different objects (two --> multiply --> two, two --> is --> four). "Two times two makes four" is like saying "two two times makes four," as in two twos make four. You aren't "timesing" anything. That's gibberish.
>>
>40% tip
LMAO SUCK MY DICK
>>
>>216418061
I don't really care. Language evolves over time. Like how "versus" was mistakenly regarded as a verb often enough ("verses") that some people use it that way.
The correct English of today is the bastardized butchered English of yesterday.
>>
>>216418061
two 'times' two means: two twice. It's literally just shorthand for repeating adding.
>>
>>216418186
Language devolves and loses clarity is if it is not actively protected.
>>216418198
Yes. That's what I said. Two two times, as in two twos, two twice, makes four.

Autism
>>
>>216418308
That's literally what it means, retard, that's why we say it
Four times eight --> eight four times
Twenty times twelve --> twelve twenty times
That's exactly what's going on in multiplication

OHHHHH SAY CAN YOU SEE

Tipping started in european high society funnily enough
Americans then started to copy it, but instead of it being a "gift" for good services, it became a way for employers to pay employees less. Another beautiful european idea corrupted by the american entrepreneurial spirit

Tipping more than 10% is cuckoldry
>>
>>216417563
>underpaid workers
>owner: "hey you can get by with the tips"
>workers now desperately need the tips
>they will spit in your food if you're not tipping enough
>now you're not tipping because you have enjoyed the service but because you're actually scared
>the owner makes extra profit

amazing American tipping culture
>>

They also deliberately provide worse service in more plausibly deniable ways (longer wait-times, etc.) if you're a repeat customer and they know you won't tip, and shit-talk you behind your back.
>>
>>216422504
they are the victims too: they wouldn't be able to live without the tips
>>
>>216417508
humiliation ritual
>>
>>216422614
I just don't like how tips are getting included in everything now. Traditionally it was just restaurants and a few other places where you were provided a service and then tipped a certain percentage depending on the quality of the service you were provided.
Now it's everywhere and in everything. Companies are just offloading the responsibility of paying their employees to the consumer.

I never tip in restaurants
I only give 0.5 euro tip to alcohol deliverymen because I really appreciate their job
>>
>>216417508
I always just tip 5bux. Its not like they're making the food and it's the same amount of work to push the cart whether its one plate or five.
>>
>>216417605
>replaced by a $5k bot in 2027
This. These servers don't get that robot servers already exist.
>>
>>216417711
The servers prefer it, ever time they've tried to sort it the server throw a hissy fit since they usually make tons in tips. If they got paid properly then the entire tips scam falls apart.
>>
>>216417508
servers literally just write down order and bring dishes to your table
what the fuck do you even tip them for
>>
>>216417508
Tipping happens, but it doesn't finance the waitress's sprawling mansion like it does in America.
