What do you call this creature in your country's language?
>>216424868бoгoмoлthe one who prays to God
Gottesanbeterin, means (female) god worshipper
>>216424868Mante ReligieuseReligious Mantis
I call it mantis but I've heard some people refer to it as mamboretá and tatadios.I've never actually seen one though.
Apparently "peygamber devesi" which translates to "prophet giant". New to me as well.
>>216424868Das a bug, mayne
Old people call it "Campamocha", which comes from an old Aztec word play kids used to do when finding one. When kids used to find a Praying Mantis they'd tell it "Campa Mochan?" Which means "Where is your home?", and the Mantis would supposedly then have to fly off to find its home. Most just call it Mantis, today

>>216426053Hmmm ackually and technically it's Louva a Deus. It doesn't change the meaning you described there, but it makes it grammatically correct.
>>216429478If you wanna be really pedantic, its proper name is Louva-a-deus, but I literally never seen anyone pronounce it with that 'a' in the middle, everyone just says "Louva Deus".
