What does the average village look like in your country?
>>216591836Why are they not worried about the fire ?

>>216591887>>216591914>>216591922Nice >>216591899Ugly
>>216591374I wish we had cozy villages like the continental but we're all spread out due to some fucking land inheritance law from the 1700s
>>216592126Very nice>>216591887Looks fine but not a village. See picrel. Villages have a small population (can be 400 inhabitants) and few shops and are often surrounded by fields.
>>216591374In Ukraine we don't have any nice looking old villages like europeans do, unfortunately
>build houses along the road >everyone has to have direct access to his field so the only way is to assign a narrow strip of land to every household >pic related ensues there are probably millions of such fields that are at best 20 m wide and 1km long
Average Romanian village here. There are some better, some worse, but this picture capture the majority of what we have.
(yorkshire is an independent country)
>>216591374And everyone there is 85 and/or on welfare and actual productive parts of the country (urban areas) have to subsidize them by paying for their full suite of healthcare and other public services at a 200-500% rate. Very cool.
>>216591374Europe without immigration would be godtier.
>>216594296That's what I always wonder about these tiny villages and towns in the middle of nowhere in far northern regions. Like, what even is the point of these towns nowadays? Same with these sorts of places in Canada, Alaska or Russia. I assume they used to live on fishing?
>>216594388There's some strategic value to retaining a population in Finnmark, but a lot of these places are indeed totally pointless and we shouldn't be wasting a ton of money subsidizing them like we are now.
I'm not sure if this is a village or a hamlet, but rural houses built from the second half of the 20th century onwards here in Mexico tend to look like this.
>>216591374https://youtu.be/INCpIFnbIuM?si=jKR7sGdStKQgtx-kSanta Rosa village in Marimbondo, AL.In Brazil villages are districts subjected to a municipality, they do not have mayors or departments of their own. Some larger villages can have an official local representative called 'sub-prefect', but said official is appointed by the mayor and not by the residents of the village.Usually a rural municipality is made of several village discricts plus a town which servers as the municipal seat.
>>216591374villages here tend to be less densely built
>>216591887>literally has "best small towns" in the filenameThis is the best of the best that we have to offer and it's still just a street lined with overpriced tourist trap shops.90% of American towns look like this >>216594598>>216591914>>216592403>>216592407>>216592974>>216595132You cannot suffer in Europe. Fuck my American life.
>>216591887quit lying manthe more honest answer would be picrel
>>216595516All I see is a collective of our country's finest minds who are all very concerned with the future of California and New York city elections.
>>216594598The typical American village has a population of 1.5 million, yes
>>216591374My shithole. Dead businesses, empty abandoned homes, few people under age 50, only income is from a nearby waterfall that attracts tourists.
>>216595663to be fair some trailer parks can be comfythere’s one situated between the missouri river and downtown here in Kansas City and i unironically like the vibe and scenery there, it’s just a bit rough around the edgeswhite trash are annoying but they won’t do you any harm
>>216596100Is alcoholism a big problem in rural sweden?
>>216596291Yep. There's two active moonshiners in town where I get my booze from. Can safely say they make a fortune from folks in town.
>>216596535>tfw dad told me he and my maternal grandpa had a 2 meter tall distillery rig running in the basement in umeå
>>216596100Vgh..swvdvn
>>216596662Basement stills are not a good idea if you're living on top of it. When they detonate, they do so with authority. Especially if there's not proper ventilation and air circulation. The shiners here have their stills a good distance from their homes and usually in sheds that barely keep the rain out for that reason.
>>216597001must have been that BEAN i ate
>>216595258europe is an ugly overpopulated shithole. America is paradise, you cant suffer

>>216594463>be me>work tradie job based out of trondheimyou might assume that most my jobs would be done in trondheim but no, it was everyehere else. actual profuction and creating anything of value is rarely done in any norwegian city it happends out there where the resources are. there is neither fish nor oil in oslo, bergen or trondheim, there are few farmers, heavy industry is elswhere, no shipyards, no hydroplants of importance and so on. but a lot of thoose who deal with it have adress in and pay tax to a city. just like my job. in reality its the rural areas that subsidize the citys.
