I am from the USA and generally speaking I am sort of uncomfortable by third worlders. I practice a lot on language learning apps and sometimes I feel weird asking them about their countries. Prime example, was speaking to a woman who is from Venezuela. She told me its a really nice place with nice people and I am thinking "No fucking way thats true." I just feel like going anywhere third world as a person from the USA paints a huge target on you. Or maybe its being American is what paints the target on you. Maybe its not as bad as I imagine. What are your thoughts? I basically never want to travel as a result of this. Ever. There is nothing I really want to see that would convince me to visit these places just to get fucked over by someone over charging or exploiting something.
>>216613424>as a person from the USA paints a huge target on youIt's kinda because you guys are just massive crackers. It's like a giant money pig walking around going "Hello, I am going to use my credit card! American express?" (dave chapell white person voice)
>>216613424it's not your passport, it's your skin colorwill you meet lovely people if you visit latin america, or africa? sureshould you bring a few fake wallets and backup cellphones with you "just in case"? absolutely
>>216613424Nigga you live in a country where people randomly shoot each other all the time.
>>216614088He's already a target in his country, he just didn't realize it yet
>>216613424yeah dont do it, for starters its not safe, and if you visit the third world you will make everything more expensive for locals and there are lots of things that you dont have to deal with, like unvaccinated stray dogs or a high murder rate, if you want to travel, save money for developed countries or dont do it at alltravelling will not improve your life in the long run, you have everything you need in america, any book, any job you want, any accomplishment, if you dont have the money to start a business you can get it through venture capitalthere are all sorts of mosquitoes and diseases that are not present in the northern portion of the world, the air quality is better there too
>>216613424i forgot to mention that tourism is the least helpful industry to our countries, we need jobs in tech and science, not jobs in restaurants and hotels, any benefit that tourism could pose is instantly nullified by the increased cost of living it provokes
>>216614088recuerdo cuando fui a la playa hace 10 años y me querían cobrar como 5 dólares por un bolígrafo/pluma/pen, porque ajustaban los precios al poder adquisitivo estadounidense nadie me convence de que el turismo sirve para algo que no sea enriquecer a las multinacionales hoteleras y a Airbnb
