I have a really expensive coffee maker (gift from my parents) but it requires a lot of maintenance and I am kind of lazy so I switched to super cheap instant coffee from a discounter

It tastes terrible but I spice it up a little by adding chocolate milk :D

Countries with a real coffee culture will look down on me but I am content and happy
>>
If you're happy I'm happy too
>>
>>216618375
can you tell us more about the coffee maker? maybe the model or something im curious
>>
I used a fancy espresso maker too with foam but after a few weeks I switch back to instant coffee if you drink coffee occasionally it's worth it since you can afford the time and effort but if you drink loads like me it's not worth the hassle

It requires so much maintenance, also to get the best out of it you need to buy really expensive coffee beans and I feel it's just not worth it

I'm starting to think coffee machines are a scam, what do they even do? We already have gravity for free
>>
>>216618375
All you need is a grinder, anon. I buy beans from the market (1-1.5kg/month). Store it in my vacuum bag. Grind it when I want to drink it. Put it inside a mug, pour hot water, or cold water + let it sit in the refrigerator for 12h (for cold brewing). Done. Minimal maintenance, better than instant coffee.
>>
>>216618375
I buy the cheap instant coffee and I think it tastes fine. I enjoy all kinds of coffee.
>>
>>216618653
I like that when you buy a cheaper one, that only thing that is fucked is the flow rate being too high.

I buy expensive coffee, grind it with a cheap hand grinder and brew it in a cheap french press. It makes excellent coffee and the the cleaning effort is low.

Bro how can people even think owning a thing like that for private household
I had a similar machine at a company I worked for, and I think it's only worth it as a machine for an office at work or for multiple people in general, also because you can simply split up the cost of beans with your colleagues, buying these big bags of beans is not beneficial because when beens get old the coffee doesn't taste as good

For private single household pic related is perfect, or the porta filter machines (siebträger in German) for espresso

interesting. 100% positive its the Swiss guys exporting their roasts to Germany, they even rebranded Meyers Espresso Blend (legendary local Bar) to Il Miracolo because nobody will know Meyers in Berlin.

relatable, pretty much same situation here but I switched to picrel and it's the best of both worlds
>affordable
>can make good coffee
>cleaning it takes like 2 minutes or less
>requires very little space and no electricity
highly recommended

this is an actual thing. its very common irl lol.

For me, I just pour the water myself. I put my ground coffee in a funnel with filter and slowly pour. It's relaxing and much easier to clean. It takes maybe 2 minutes to hand wash and it tastes good.

I like making pour over. I have a scale but I barely ever use it, I just do everything by muscle memory at this point. I might weigh out the coffee once every 6 months or so just to give myself a visual reminder of how much the correct weight looks like, then I just go back to eyeballing it. It’s good enough for me.

my goto is la manuela and i spice it up with a bit togo pogo. but then they roast fresh twice a week and often something is sold out. I prefer the south American arabicas over the african ones, not sure why but the africans are more of a mocca taste and i make french press coffee with cream and sugar.
