I'd say there are Turkaboos but very few. There are plenty of foreign, non-Turk Turkologists and I'd say it takes a special autistic Turkaboo to take that as their study path.

Taiwan should be culturally dominant, because Chinese culture is one of the world's most influential historically; and they didn't commit a cultural ethnocide on themselves like the mainland commies did. I'm not sure why they are so weak; probably has something to do with existing in mainland China's shadow. They also focus so much on B2B, so while they have strong brands, it's stuff like TSMC, that goes into things that people buy, but people don't buy the individual computer chips.
