Do you sing the national anthem before a movie, in your country?
>>216634687I mean, we don't sing it (or at least we never did when I was growing up). The theater just plays the national anthem and we all just stand up for it. Tb h it is pretty weird. I can understand a sporting event or something but a movie?
>>216635178Is it any movie or just movies made in India?
>>216635212Made in India. I don't think I had to stand for Jurassic World Rebirth
>>216635178in communist era the daily TV broadcast here started (and maybe ended too) with the national anthemI think it was like that in many other countries as well, before TV/cinema was fully commercialized
No wonder why they feel at home in the USA...
>>216634687“Germany, Germany above all else”If I do that, I'll be arrested.
>>216634687i school when i was in it we stand and pledge the national anthem every day (saying it with out hand over heart) and this was in jew york
>>216635322because it's simply not part of your national anthemDas Lied der Deutschen =/= national anthem of FRG
>>216634687In the US it's pretty normal to have the national anthem play before political, war, or holocaust movies; but you usually don't sing it. Just listen.
>>216635178that's fuckin wild lol
>>216635457>or holocaust movieswhy? Did it happen in the US? Did the US have anything to do with this event in any tangible way? I just don't understand why exactly before this kind of movie and not any other movie about whatever else cruel historical event
>>216635491The US national anthem is all about endurance under overwhelming odds, so probably that.
>>216635519okay but do you think you'd also have it played before a movie about the massacre of Nanjing or Holodomor?
>>216634687I saw dubbed Chainsaw man movie two weeks, tbf I doubt random Grenadians would watch it in japanese other than biggest blackaboo,>>216635457I saw a Mission Impossible movie in Miami so that's BS.>>216635178bruh wtf
>>216635536The first one was just in one city, and the last one didn't even happen.
>>216634687Sliding scale of shithole is patriotic to firstie isn't patriotic at all
>>216635388And I thought we lacked a sense of humor.What a stick-in-the-mud you are.
>>216635582you just wanted to sing a Nazi song and not your national anthemyour post was not a joke but actually a threat to public safety
>>216635322I heard a German say this was mistakenly played at a sporting event which caused them to feel sick and infuriated. Talk about ubersoy
>>216635178That's what happens when one lives in a fakeass made up nation>>216635308Did they have cameras in the television?
>>216635917>Did they have cameras in the television?no lol
>>216635457that's not true
>>216635917>Did they have cameras in the television?buddy, what do you think a television is
>>216636189I meant during the commie rule as the poleanon's post said, "buddy", modern tvs have cameras retroactively >Probably a jeet
>>216635457>>216635480>>216635322>>216635627Yeah I remember the first time I saw Europeans calling Americans cult-ish for standing up for their anthem and for having a pledge of allegiance and I was like "Wait, is that supposed to be weird?" We have our own pledge of allegiancehttps://comeindiasing.com/the-national-pledge/The "all indians are my brothers and sisters" part feels awkward since you um...have to marry an Indian woman and calling her your sister feels wrong.
>>216635550He said war, political, or holocaust film. You watched mission impossible.
>>216634687In movie theaters on military bases they play the anthem before movies.
>>216636262all televisions have cameras. that's how they gather the informtion to put in the tv shows.
>>216636421I didn't know anyone else had a pledge of allegiance but I hadn't really thought about it, either. I've always thought it was weird to have one. I also thought ours was invented in the 50s during the "red scare" era as like some sort of magical incantation to ward off communism. turns out it's from the fuckin 1800s. it was the "under God" that was added in the 50s. Anyway, it doesn't work at all; they should get rid of it. nobody likes doing it. it doesn't make anyone feel patriotic.how do people feel about the Indian pledge?
>>216637212People probably see it as just "garden variety patriotic thing to do." I think it's corny but if I had to take the pledge, I'm not gonna sit out. Don't wanna be the brick the sticks out
>>216636421People forget two things about the US pledge of allegianceFirst, we fought a civil war and had Southern culture as a prominent aspect of the country up until about the 90's. So there was always a worry we'd have a second civil war.Second, anti-communism was a big deal in the 30's and 50's.
>>216638178>30s and 50sUSA allied with Soviets and had a fairly positive view of them up until 1945. Marshall Plan also funded them too
>>216635178>Jeet admits something in his country is weird>Doesn't mindlessly defend itWtf? Are you actually a westerner stuck there? Blink twice if you need help.
>>216635491Obviously there's a political aspect but America has had one of the largest Jewish populations on Earth for a while now, so a ton of European Jews moved to America after the holocaust
>>216638178>anti-communism was a big deal in the 30sbefore ww2?
>>216638222Both before and after WW2 opinion of the USSR was very low. You could argue it was only tolerated during the war due to a common enemy.
>>216638381we have a huge Ukrainian diaspora but still can't imagine the Polish national anthem to be played before any movie important for this community, it would just feel weird
>>216638435It wasn't as huge and glaring of an issue as it was 1918-1920 but the federal government was still actively subverting communist groups and having communist labor organizers murdered by strikebreakers and other thugs. The CPUSA was actually very prominent in the 30s and was very well represented in union halls. It wasn't until the 50s that American communists stopped being as visible, but the party was an active member in the Comintern and coordinated well with the CPSU until the Soviet-German nonaggression pact.
It was a thing here a long time ago
>>216635178>I can understand a sporting eventThat's weird too
