Just heard the news that Peppe Vessicchio died today at 69. For those who don’t know, he was like the most beloved orchestra conductor in Italy, especially at the Sanremo Festival. Every time they announced “conducting the orchestra, Maestro Peppe Vessicchio” the crowd would go wild.
I'm not even Italian but I've always respected the guy. Watched some clips of him on YouTube and he seemed genuinely passionate about music. Apparently he died from pneumonia complications.
Press F to pay respects to the Maestro

What about Fabio Biondi?

The most beloved conductor in Italy is probably Riccardo Muti, or maybe Chailly.
It used to be Abbado, but he died some time ago... I feel old. I like his Mendelssohn.
