>>216652954Japan is a long ass island chain with a mountain range slicing through the middle so the Japan Sea side and the Pacific side have totally different climates. Since it stretches from north to south Okinawa’s basically tropical while Hokkaido’s almost arctic. Japan even has some of the snowiest places on Earth. Korea, on the other hand, gets way less snow and rain. Stuff like that really shapes how people think and act.Culturally, until the Edo period, Japan’s samurai class followed a Japanified form of Confucianism all about discipline loyalty and hierarchy while the townsfolk didn’t really care. They just went out drank read some trashy magazines visited pleasure quarters and lived day by day.Korea or the whole Joseon region was smaller and got absolutely nuked by Confucian brainrot. Even Jeju Island which had its own culture and language got dragged into it. They copied China’s exam system became status obsessed bureaucrats lived in luxury and when Hangul was invented the elites trashed it because it was “too common.” Meanwhile they still had slaves who sometimes literally threw rocks at each other for fun people died and everything.Genetically, southern Korea has some Jomon ancestry while most parts of Japan except Shikoku and Kansai have a good chunk of it. The Ainu and Okinawans have even more though northern and southern Jomon were quite different genetically.TLDRJapan equals snowy islands mix of discipline and hedonismKorea equals smaller land Confucian overdrive bureaucrat simulatorDifferent weather different mindset

Koreans are better at mathematics than Japs. Why is this? Korea is always substantially higher in mathematics than Japan.
>>216654524Confucianism is also pagan David-kun
>>216654414North Korea is very cold and windy, no?
>>216654623It was like 40 years. Are Japanese that powerful they changed entire trajectory of Korean history through these 40 years ?
>>216654797Yeah, North Korea has a climate close to continental, so it gets pretty cold and the winds can be strong. But it’s generally drier than the Japanese islands. Japan, influenced by the ocean, is comparatively warmer.
>>216654762It’s probably because Koreans study for exams like crazy. But the math students in Korean universities still use math textbooks in Japanese or English.

>>216655627What kind of philosophy
>>216652954they are both east asian
>>216654623If there are any similarities to Japan, they are merely remnants of the era of Japanese rule.Yet they have removed the culture transmitted from Japan, labeling it “residual traces of Japanese imperialism.”This is likely a manifestation of their inferiority complex.
>>216656174It's like saying both Sweden and Norway are Nordic
>>216656166pagan philosophy
>>216657333It's closer to ancestor worship, but it reads like propositional feudalism. It's more romantic than philosophical or economic in my opinion.
