I took a Greyhound bus from LA to New York in the winter and we went through Nebraska.
It was early morning when we stopped at this restaurant stop in the middle of absolutely nowhere. It had been snowing that night and snow coated everything.
I looked around and there was just flat white land as far as the eye could see in every direction. Absolute nothingness.

To me, that's Nebraska

It was a small diner but it had booths to sit at too. Warm brown overtones and warm lighting it was cozy.
They even still had cigarette machines and newspaper racks

I live here. Nothing happens. Most of the state is corn and cattle ranching. What little remains of our natural prairies is mostly out west. The tallgrass prairies don't exist anymore. In terms of culture, it's mostly standard rural agricultural Americana. Nothing of particular note. I want to leave as soon as possible.

As an American it's a very large country. So much land. So you can imagine some people live in places that aren't as populated etc. These people aren't just sensitive they are fucking scared of anything 20 miles from their house. They see shit on TV and think that bad things are going to instantly happen to you if you set foot in a city. Much of my family thinks like this lmao.

Full? I fucking doubt it. Passing it by is probably for the best though. Who dreams of moving to Nebraska when they grow up? Yup I can't wait to head on out for the bright lights of Omaha!
