My girlfriend is a teacher and she’s constantly telling me how she’s had to explain to her students (7th and 8th graders btw) that talking about “gooning” and porn in a public setting isn’t okay. One of the most common things for kids to get in trouble for is watching porn in class on their phone or on a school computer. It’s become totally normalized amongst kids. When I was that age I barely even knew what jerking off was.

I don’t really know what can be done about this. Nobody wants a UK-tier digital ID age verification system, but I really don’t see any other way to prevent kids from accessing porn online. These are literal children developing porn addictions and having their minds screwed up by seeing this stuff from such a young age. It’s only going to get worse.
