It's a hodgepodge of a bunch of different ethnicities and peoples, often who don't have relations with each other even if they are of the same race. There is very little societal cohesion. Somebody from Texas does not give a shit about people from NY and somebody from California doesn't care about people from Tennessee, and so forth.

States are wildly different to each other. When i'd vacation in other states with my parents it was almost like being in another country.

It's not really Americans. It's just that American humor is left-wing humor, given that the authoritarian left has mainstream American "culture" by the balls. That means they can make fun of everyone and everything that conservatives, patriots and normal people value, but they never make fun of anything on the left, despite the fact that there is far more insane things to make fun of on the left than on the right. Another thing is that the left doesn't value humor for the sake of humor. They only use it as a weapon or a tool for ridiculing people. That's why they're incapable of laughing at themselves, or making humor with general appeal. It's always propaganda.
Of course, you still have humor that makes fun of the left, but that's more of a private or underground thing among normal people, and almost never shows up in any mainstream setting.
