Did the job market in your country die too? Havent been able to find a job in 2 years and because we have a retarded system here I can't even get a cheap shitty dishwasher job since i'm overeducated and not foreign

You should be grateful they brought people to do jobs Swiss don’t want to do and excited that Swiss employers are saving money by pay the foreigners they hire less money
>>
It's beyond fucked here. Our company sent a job opening a few days ago for a simple manual labor job with no education required, and received applicants with masters and PhDs applying.
>>
>>216977688
Maybe I should've listened to my mom and moved to brazil after finishing my job education then.
>>216977701
I work in IT and its genuine germans taking our jobs because companies are hiring over 85k "workers". Once they arrive they pay them the shittiest pay possible and they end up leaving after 5 years and the cycle repeats. I've been to job interviews a few times and each time the IT team was just full of washed up lookin germans. Fucking up how they're essentially being enslaved
>>
There are tons of job here if you are not picky.
Very company has about shortage due to the declining population
>>
>>216977570
Yeah, it's pretty retarded.
I was looking for a normal, decent job and couldn't find anything because you always needed qualifications or other requirements even for the lowest of the low jobs.
Apprenticeships are worth gold here, more so than going for higher education some would argue because employers are more willing to employ someone who has both practical experience and theoretical knowledge. Your position is also pretty solid. They'll first fire people with no qualifications than those who do.
Higher education obviously gives you more pay though so there is that.
>>
>>216977570
Its fucked where I live, the only jobs available are teaching, law enforcement, and nursing. Any other job is impossible to land if you can't get hooked up by someone.

And your parents love you and feed you. Fuck I hate white parents unlimited love for their kids

I work in a non-tech industry that should be booming and after two months and after applying to every job posting relevant to my skillset in a 30 mile radius, about 25 or so applications, I've gotten one interview, where the HR screener quickly rejected me because they apparently had hard requirements that they didn't include in the job posting and didn't check my resume for.

Moving back in with my parents after my lease expires and am expecting to have to mooch off of them until they (or I) die.
>>
>>216977982
I think you like many Germans fell for the blue-collar meme. Krauts love to jerk off their apprenticeships but reality is pretty grim - stable employment is counteracted by teachers and bosses behaving worse than they do with white collars, imagine how much physical labour fucks up your body by the time you retire at 60, and of course there's a dating prospect for men, because women always want a partner that's richer and more educated than them, even if said women only have some shitty theology or history degree they will still want a man with uni education

So you studied for a chef or some clerk stuff? To me it looked like the only worthwile Ausbildung in Germany is IT stuff but the competition is crazy there, both foreigners and German citizens laser focus on this apprenticeship the most. I browse German subreddit and probably 80% of all Ausbildung topics were connected to the IT one

Yes, im voting for the populist anti green, fuck that jobless shit

Yeah self dox I looked for jobs in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and every time it seemed the market was worse. Way worse. I checked out of curiosity because of this thread and its scary out there. I'm hoping I keep my current job (obtained through hometown connections) for a long time and don't have to deal with job search until my investments are enough to retire somewhere poor. Feels like LinkedIn does nothing, college connections do NOTHING, and most apps don't even make it to the scary HR lady.
>>
I work for a defense contractor as a precision machinist and we are never out of work. Some of the older guys told me when work was slow during the recession they still stayed busy because we did work for the medical industry. Must really suck to be a code monkey/IT type

I couldn't get anything with my computer science degree so after a short stint carrying mail, I came to 911. I don't think I'm a good fit for the job and it's not what I want to do with my life but I'm getting like $32/hr to sit in a chair all day in a LCOL area.
It's funny cause I still apply every day for low hanging fruit tech jobs I think I'm qualified for and they pay like $12/hr. I still get rejected.

I'm trying to leave my current job (IT monkey and no raise in 2 years) but getting nothing but generic rejections, even my current job which I got about 2 years ago was after some 20+ failed interviews, which in fairness is obviously my fault for being a pathetic failure of an interviewee but fuck I hate the idea that I might end up going through that again
>>
I highly advise all IT guys here to transition either to welfare or OnlyFans. I am sorry but free market decided that you are not needed anymore

I charge 500 dollars to do window tint on a BMW. I can do 3 cars a day. It took 4 years to get it to dealership level. Almost 4k cars. 3 a day for years m8. Practice hand cutting it or take a class and practice. If you are snowed in for 3 or4 mos repetitions will have you ready. Then movie to socal. I tint lawyers Mercedes for a living

Imagine how much they pay to IT guys in Germanistan if fucking ethnic Krauts decide to leave this shithole. I think the purchasing power of Russian and Ukrainian programmers is higher than that of German ones, It seems most East Slavs that move to West Europe (not Pooland, which is actually good for IT) end up taking a pay cut, not in nominal salary but in their actual purchasing power. The rents become much worse, prices on basic goods increase and now they have to pay 40% income tax, meanwhile in the East they were paying 10-20% and were considered gods among men. I think IT guys in Germany earn around $30 000 a year after taxes
>>
>>216982402

I worked support and earned more than that, thats barely liveable in majority of small cities here. What the fuck?

I got a stupid meme degree and have been very disappointed by what I'm able to get, I've just worked retail/warehouse/NEET since graduation on and off. I want to get on an engineering apprenticeship, because if I get on a good one I will finish with a degree-level qualification and 5 years experience in the field.
About 40% of people I know from university are doing well, 60% are wretches like me. as long as I have something stable by 30 I don't mind. I should've done something technical at uni, but it's still recoverable.
in a strange way I feel better seeing many people my age (mid-20s) struggling. also, don't include your degree in your CV when applying to these shitty retail positions.
anyway, there's worse times to reskill than your 20s. think how many 40-50 year old cashiers you see in real life. not everyone immediately gets that cozy post-university job, especially now. just work towards something you think is solid and in demand. 18 year old kids normally shouldn't be allowed to just pick a random university subject, very strange system we have if you think about it
>>
>>216983549
>You can't suffer in Switzerland

I have a Swiss friend (he's rich) who brags about how efficient Swiss bureaucracy is compared to shitty US privatization. He claims that he can get a job that pays roughly 5k USD monthly instantly if he was ever unemployed and needed a job. Is he fucking with me?
>>
>>216984948
>Swiss bureaucracy
>efficent
>Can get a job instantly for 5k
Dude's absolute bullshitting you. Nobodys hiring for that amount, especially not swiss people. And our bureaucracy is an absolute assblast of incompetent retarded people.

people who have 15yoe in network administration can take a handful of $500 cert tests and then get a job "blue teaming" which is basically doing nothing and then writing a report for insurance purposes when a data breach happens on terabytes of sensitive data stored in plain text

the affected parties will be defrauded for thousands of dollars and their recompense will be a $15 check
>>
>>216977570

It doesn't pay enough, the hours suck, it's boring as fuck, and I'm the whitest employee in my department
I'm Italian

Die? I am unsure it ever lived. In the 2010s, everyone in my local KFC had a degree. I know plenty of people with degrees, and they all earn minimum wage in different jobs that have nothing to do with their degree.
At 38, I am finishing my last year of university. I had hoped to get a mon-fri 9-5 to spend time with my child. Isn't looking likely anytime soon though.
>>
>>216985331
the post 2008 job market was absolutely more brutal than what zoomers are experiencing right now
>>
if i got laid off im sure id be able to find a new job, but it would probably be a massive downgrade from my current job.
>>
I ditched the private sector a year ago and managed to get a comfy government job with great benefits (an actual miracle if you don't have connections). I spend about 20% of my income on rent, bills and food and I save the rest. It's nice. Planning a week-long trip to Switzerland next year

Don't blame me for choosing the best option. I have a Masters degree in law and wanted to be a lawyer but I faced the prospect of being paid like €1200 a month for 20 years. It's up to employers to make their jobs appealing

I have an IT job and it's unlikely that i'll get fired, but searching for a better project/pay seems like a nightmare so i don't even attempt it.

Poccnr has "1C", something like SAP, and it still has decent job market, but it's retarded shit that hardly resembles actual software engineering.
My dad worked as analyst there for a few years until finally escaping that crap into actual IT as of recent
