Mixing cultures does that to you.That being said, "němьcь" is protoslavic, so "neamț" is very much "our word" just like "salary" is an english word and not the latin "salarium".

I'm staying for about another 6 months for work. English speakers here told me to completely ignore learning kanji because there was no way I'd actually learn anything, but romanji is ONLY useful for learning pronunciation... I'm just too shy to try talking to native Japanese and I really have a very very bare bones understanding. I'm afraid I'll just embarrass myself or annoy them. How can I actually learn without having a panic attack, burning out, or learning wrong and speaking like a retard? Is it even worth it if I'm not going to be here that long?
