Is getting into Computer Science worth it in your cunt? What's the job market like for new graduates?
>>
>>217149221
at the end of a day it's a paper, it's important to have a specific skill
>>
>>217149221
Not it’s completely not worth. Any field flooded by normalfaggots for money becomes cancer.
>>
>>217149221
programmers are getting culled as a job
it is one of the worst time to get in

imo get a degree in any other fields and learn programming on the side
>>
>>217149221
those jobs will be taken by AI
>>
It’s like any other field, there are oceans of jobs if you’re curious, competent, and driven

It’s no different from nursing, or engineering, or carpentry, or cooking, or journalism, or politics or whatever

The doomers are always unlikeable, low agency people

>dude it’s like any other field
>I’m such a contrarian hehe showed em doomers
Google’s AI crap: While there is high demand for computer science roles, the job market for recent graduates is currently competitive due to a shrinking number of entry-level positions and an influx of graduates. The job market is particularly challenging for bachelor's degree holders as companies increasingly favor experienced hires or those with advanced degrees. Recent graduates must focus on building proof of work and leveraging networks to secure roles, which are now often harder to access through traditional applications alone.

There was an anomalously high demand, the market responded with anomalously high wages, then the goycattle flooded in, shit carried on inertia, and no we’re in the phase where there are more graduates than entry level positions. Has happened to many other jobs in the past, lawyers for example.

CS/SE is already taken over by AI.
>What's the job market like for new graduates?
Grim/non-existent, safe to say nobody is hiring senior devs much less juniors.

Learn a trade like welding, carpentry, cooking, working with heavy machinery, oil drilling or something else physical that is hard to replace by AI/robots.
>>
>>217149221
It was worth it when I got in but I hear the kids have it rough these days
I also have it rough because we have no fucking juniors on my team now but at least I'm employed
>>
>>217149221
years of schooling to get a one way trip to mcwagies
>>
>>217149221
terrible. i assume it will become a vanity industry soon.
>>
Awful. I enrolled in university 5 years ago when it was at its peak and I'm about to graduate and I can't even land an internship. I realized I hate programming anyways so I want to find some other niche I can do with my degree but I have no idea what to do. I'm not the type for business/managerial positions
>>
>>217149598
I'm in a third world country that previously had no real tech (programming) sector to speak of and we got all our tech from foreign corporations. You couldn't even learn Compsci in most state unis until a couple years ago when the first ones outside of the Cairo area opened like in Alexandria in 2019. The government's trying to push it pretty hard because they want to cash in on all the international hype, and it still isn't swarmed with tons of people yet because most people are focused on medicine and engineering and tech is seen as a new and dubious career choice here by most. I was hoping more thirdies especially Indians, or that one Serb who keeps cursing his decision to become a codemonkey, would comment but so far it's just folks from the first world
>>
I got a 1 in 10 interview rate and 3 jobs offers looking for an internship. IDK doesn't seem too bad for me.
>>
>>217151693
Speak of the devil and he appears. Situation is grim even in 2nd world Serbia damn
>>
>>217149221
Not in this day and age. I had a friend in 2ndary and high school (we're both born in 1999) who basically was doing nothing except coding and math (only insofar as it was necessary for coding) ever since he turned 12, he skipped all classes except for math, physics and computer science and despite all this the best he could get in this economy was some entry level junior dev job that will probably disappear within the next 2 years due to AI lmao
>>
>>217151826
if what you said about him is true then after 2 years of working he will no longer care about junior positions
>>
>>217149598
You are Americanized. Extreme wages and extreme fluctuations happens all the time in USA but it far less in most European countries. The job market is more stable but wages rarely get as high as in USA.
>>
>>217149221
It comes and go.
Now it's good enough if you don't mind the small pay.
AI for now isn't used enough to make a difference.
>>
>>217149221
>falling for the STEM meme
Lmao
>>
>>217152838
I mean in a 3rd world shithole your options are probably either STEM or dying in a coal mine so i get it. Don't think people in a cunt with like 3,000$ USD GDP per Capita can afford a decent standard of living with blue collar work
>>
>>217149221
This code would kill the same person a million times
>>
>>217149221
"For" requires four indents, not two.
>>
>>217149221
If ai replaces everything why not specialize in ai so you're building the ai instead of getting replaced by it
>>
>>217151780
thirdworlder here. its unironically even worse here. i dont know how it is in egypt but there is a HUGE nepotism issue here. if you want to get a junior position you HAVE to know someone who is already working in tech there is NO other way to get in. if you are good like a senior sure you could get a job by just applying through linkdin.
>>
>>217149221
>Is getting into Computer Science worth it in your cunt?
IMO, no
>What's the job market like for new graduates?
Horrible due to oversupply
>>
the job market is bad here

i still get a lot of job notices from indeed.com but for every job opening, there's probably like thousands of applicants to compete
>>
>>217149598
>the job market for recent graduates is currently competitive due to a shrinking number of entry-level positions and an influx of graduates.

This is very good advice (especially the last point) and can be applied to virtually every field where a job application will evaluate the work you’ve done previously. It’s not enough to just get a degree anymore, there’s too many people going to college. You need to prove your competence outside of just getting good grades by taking on personal projects, entering competitions, etc.
Thanks for reminding me that there are still a few intelligent people posting on this shithole of a website.

I have two remote jobs lol, shit is so cash and I'm winning a lot of money. I might even finish paying my house in two years lol.

Horrible due to over-supply plus economy being bad

And as luck would have it, I'm stuck on a dogshit project that i've really had enough of

Genuienly, fucking kill me
>>
>>217155881
I thought they only gave remote jobs to Jeets not Mexicans. Where did you find 2 online job listings in this day and age anon
>>
I’m in computer engineering and since we have basically 50/50 EE and CS stuff, the CS classes like webdev have maybe 200-300 students, stuff like embedded systems or signal processing have like 10-30 people in them

I don’t get the disparity why pure CS is so much more liked than CE
>>
>>217158240
Unironically Linkedin, jeets are TERRIBLE programmers so it was easy to impress the American clients I'm working with.
>>
>>217154351
nope
while 4 spaces are reccommended, python doesn't care about how many indents you use as long as you use them consistently within the script
>>
>>217149418
This would be an issue if I wasn't in the 98th percentile for IQ lmfao

look the before last example
>>
>>217158449
Zoomonkeys and normgroids in general want the easy and way to everything that’s flashy and trending. Even if there’s 1000+ copies of them competing for the same 200 classroom seats available.
>>
>>217149221
don't listen to the doomposters
if you're more skilled than the average IT worker who can't tie his own shoelaces, you can easily find a job at any time, with a decent salary

>b-but AI will replace all IT workers
Nah man it's just not happening. As someone who works with AI every day, both as a product and as a development tool, I know my job is safe until my retirement, there's too many things it will never be able to do properly.
>>
>>217158986
nigga u dumb

for i in 3:
statement # Similar to range(3).
>>
>>217149221
It's worth it and there's several free courses that big corporations like amazon and even google are giving for free to train employees, just got home from the last day of an aws one. Too stressful for me though, I'm gonna become an english teacher or something.
>>
>>217154351
>>217158552
int isn't even iterable
fucking pytoddlers
>>
>>217149221
it looks like they are trying as hard as possible to kill it with jeets and AI
>>

>Getting career advice from 4chan
Not a great idea desu. Go ask Facebook normies or something
>>
not in the US

since we're the top of the pyramid, every business is looking for any opportunity to offshore or bring in some jeet bound servitude slave

if you live in a country with a national identity then yeah it's good
