Seriously, by learning French I have a lot of opportunities interacting with French from their intellectual class, business class to common people and they Always bring up how everything is “c'est la faute des anglo-saxons” when something even minor goes wrong. They don’t even realize that they are just mad that they just lost the race to establish to global order. The obsession is really bizarre and unhealthy. I’m convinced French will be ready to kill British again in three seconds if necessary conditions are met.

During WWII, both countries very nearly merged to save France from Germany, i.e., France offered to unify with Britain and recognize the British King as theirs but even in dire straits they both could not do it. When De Gaulle started the Free French resistance, Churchill actively tried to sabotage him while he also took every opportunity to spite Churchill. And so on and so forth to this day.
