I just finished this show after it came highly recommended by a lot of Americans and I admit - while unique - I don't really get the appeal. Every character seems low key off their meds and meandering in existential mediocrity while obnoxiously weighed down by acutely esoteric minutiae. Just an entire society struggling to find purpose in a world that's lost most meaning to them. Is this really how you see yourselves?

>>217181033tim robinson’s eternal “joke” is just nonsensical screaming and saying some wacky string of words together that sound so heckin’ random. he’s literally the old adult swim surrealist humorists like Tim and Eric or Sam Hyde but if they were somehow gigantic retards who only had one joke.
>>217181353I know it's huge with critics because I think they drool over anything that doesn't feel "by the numbers" and so the concept of awkward, clumsy characters tripping over themselves and going on self-indulgent little misadventures in flyover suburbia must really scratch that itch for a story that feels even quaintly off-the-grid and sanboxy but if that's the whole point of the show, I think there needs to be something more to make it worth telling. Otherwise it's not really much different from sitting in a diner watching syphilis-addled hobos arguing over a cardboard box in an alleyway.
>>217181033I couldnt finish the first episode, I dont find funny when some character into an embarrassing situation, in fact it makes me extremely nervous. Its not the first time I stop watching some film or show because of it
