Germans literally inhale sausages. I discovered this upon visiting the country once. My friend, whom I was visiting, took me behind an Oktoberfest tent to see this phenomenon. I was quite stunned to see a gentleman kneel down, hands full of bratwurst, weisswurst, and other unknown types of sausage, and inhale them. I was struck to the core by this.
