I imagine any Western investment is going to demand democratic action as much as possible. I imagine Western policymakers are unhappy that China didn't follow the "acceptable" development model of development->democracy. So, future countries must implement effective democracy promotion to gain Western investment.So, no I don't think other countries can copy China's model and keep the status quo.
