I just learned about Acadians. How come they aren't Québécois? Are there other French Canadian ethnic groups or is it just the two of them?
>>217192477There's three white French people: quebecois, Acadian, Cajun (maybe pawpaw French idk if they count as their own group)Two mutt French people: Creoles, metis
>injun provinces speak a better french than big provinces
>>217192604What about the ones in France?
>>217192477Many acadians and cajuns still speak French. There's many videos of them on yt.
>>217192477Everyone forgets the Canadiens Français (everyone not mentioned itt) just cause with every province and territories combined they make a tiny fraction of the population. Franco-Ontarians are already a big part of that population. Lovely accents we never get to hear
>>217192477>Are there other French Canadian ethnic groupsThere's one for each province.
Those are just french settlers living in places where they became the minority so they started to lose their language and culture. It happened all over the globe and history
Quebec and Acadia were two separate colonies and Acadia was captured by the English like 75 years before they took Quebec
>>217192477On se distingue automatique par le dialecte en une fraction de seconde.>>217192604Cajuns are Acadians. Creole are partially Acadian. I'm related to Beyonce.Different accent? Different history, different fates (deportation & diaspora).Acadians can actually compete in the oppression olympics which would break the systemic racism narrative.
>>217198700Forget that question mark that's typo.
>>217197311No, fuck off.
>>217198700*automatiquement.
This pic comes first. Quebec pretends like we don't exist but they take credit for the oppression points.
>>217198700Creoles are descendants of people directly from France who mixed with their slaves in New Orleans. They have little to no Canadian ancestry. Cajuns are Acadians that got displaced and forced south.
>>217199142That's what they say but a lot of them have Acadians last names and they speak exactly the same as people from Shediac. Even more so than the white Cajuns.
>>217199142People from Memramcook got deported to Saint Domingue for a while and they race mixed there and left before the Haïtian revolution.
>>217199142Here you go.
