Is she still alive?

Yes.
When I was in highschool I wanted to be a physician but turned out i'm too fucking stupid for that so I went to med school to become a paramedic and ended up working in an ambulance crew for 9 months before I quit for an IT job.
I don't really have any gruesome stories to share, just a handful of automobile accidents with mangled bodies either dead or halfway there and few suicide attempts of various degrees of successfullness.

During my studies we did have practical classes for a subject called "forensic medicine" where I did assist in butchering a human corpse.
I even cut open a skull and scooped up a human brain and held it in my hands :)

I worked for IGNIS (oldest funeral home/service in Stockholm) for a number of years.
I started out driving a hearse which included collecting the body, transporting it to the firm and unloading it.
Then I transferred into sales (caskets) which I sucked at and went over to an admin role in the office before I quit a couple years later.

I've seen around 250-300 bodies. Handled most of them.

My dad died a few months ago. Wasn't sure if he was dead or just passed out...the wide open eyes should have gave it away.
