I noticed this with westerners but more with people in the united states where they would get a spoonful of food, smell it, then put in their mouth, I can understand the food safety aspect of it but it's so strange to me that they would do it again and again, grab a spoonful of food, smell it, put it in their mouth then a spoonful again then smell it. Do you notice this too?

For the Philippines abroad, I find that we are too comfortable with grouping up with each other even in the company of other nationalities like speaking in our language in front of others, etc., that's why we got dubbed as the filipino mafia in the nursing industry, because as soon as 2-4 filipinos group up together, it will look like we are scheming or something.

Hot and cold faucet in the UK. I don't get it.

There's no way Americans do this, they shovel food down their throat faster than humanly possible

this, and their bathroom light switches outside the bathroom
>>

>and their bathroom light switches outside the bathroom
That's how it is here as well, is yours inside?
I think it's more convenient no?
>>
>>217208028
electricity/wet room building code. a bathroom is considered a wet room and then you cant have switches inside it. water and electricity doesnt mix well.
>>
it's really weird how in some countries the front door opens outwards
>>

>is yours inside?
of course

>>217208465
I wonder what kind of switches people have for that to be a real problem
I couldn't get water into mine if I tried, since there's no reasonable opening for any stray water drops from the hand flicking it
maybe if I hosed it down on purpose or something
but that's probably intended for a bathroom light switch

anyway, wetrooms have wetzone divisions, and wetzone 1 is restricted, and wetzone 2 is cleared to install outlets, place laundry appliances, etc in
everything must have RCDs, waterproof layering, covering lids and strict minimum distances

but what do I know?
just find it weird to have switches in the wrong room
>>

Most people consider our bathrooms weird because of:
>hot and cold taps
>light switches outside bathrooms
>no plug socks in bathrooms
>sink and toilet often in separate rooms
Living in an older building in the UK is suffering.

i dont know all the zone laws, you can have sockets for shavers or washing machines for instance but not light switches. its just building code. but have you ever been at the bathroom and thought
>i really need to turn off the light right now?
no, you havent. it actually makes perfect sense to leave the lighswitch on the outside. you turn on the light as you enter, turn off as you leave.

He must have seen someone blowing on something hot and somehow thought they were smelling it.

I don't get those street food vendors. And I don't mean those deliberately messy indian types. Even a tame video like this (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ORgWsxI_TB8) looks completely unappatising and unhygenic to me. And I wonder if those are really legit street food vendors or just guys who put up a charade in order to earn (somehow) money through social media content.
>where they would get a spoonful of food, smell it, then put in their mouth
Never seen this. Are you perhaps mixing it up with blowing on the food in order to cool it?
>>217208538
Kek true. Some older buildings here have such doors as well. But those are usually larger 19th century villas so perhaps here it had something to do with hosting people at special events.
>>
>>217207428
Older houses used to have hot water tanks that made the hot water not suitable for drinking.
New houses usually have mixer taps.
>>
>>217208028
This is a wiring thing.
UK houses use ring circuits, which carry more current than individual circuits used elsewhere, so in bathrooms you can only have cord switches and shaver plugs to avoid any chance of electrocution
