The entire country used to be majority farmland until the Great Depression when farmers abandoned their land to movie to urban areas to find work. The abandoned farmland was later bought by the federal government and turned into managed forest for lumber production. I guarantee most Americans ITT live by a forested area that's entirely man made, they just don't know it.
